Meet our Guests
Ryan Meed
Ryan Meed, a senior linebacker for the University of Illinois, has been a standout on the field and in the classroom. A four-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, Ryan has been a key player for the Illini, especially on special teams, and has helped lead his team to top rankings and bowl appearances.
Off the field, Ryan's faith journey has been integral to his athletic career. He credits God for guiding him through his time at Illinois, from his first day on campus to his recent moments of triumph. Ryan has been vocal about the role of faith in his life, sharing how his relationship with Jesus has grown, especially during challenging times. He has experienced firsthand how being an athlete provides unique opportunities to live out and share his faith, from praying with teammates to giving glory to God for his accomplishments.
Josh Parr
Josh Parr, a central Illinois native, played baseball for the University of Illinois from 2009-2011. During his time as an Illini, he discovered a deeper understanding of the Gospel, developed a passion for God’s Word, and began leading Bible studies and pregame prayers for his teammates.
Drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2011, Josh continued sharing his faith in professional baseball, witnessing teammates come to salvation and even baptizing some along the way.
After retiring from baseball, Josh dedicated eight years to discipleship with The Navigators at U of I before joining FCA, where he now helps athletes and coaches grow in their faith and make disciples.
Tanner ARkin
Tanner Arkin, a junior tight end for the University of Illinois, has quickly made his mark as a key contributor on the field and as a team leader. A Fort Collins, Colorado native, Tanner transferred to Illinois from Colorado State and has become an integral part of the Fighting Illini offense. He was honored as team captain and has made key plays, including career-high receptions and a touchdown against #24 Michigan in 2024.
Throughout his journey, Tanner has faced several obstacles, including significant injuries, but has persevered with a strong faith in God’s plan. His commitment to leading by example and forming meaningful relationships with his teammates has provided Tanner opportunities to share his faith in ways that inspire those around him. We’re eager to hear how his relationship with Jesus has shaped his athletic career and life at Illinois.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to attend?
Absolutely nothing! However, there will be an opportunity to financially partner with the ministry during the event. It’s our biggest fundraising event of the year! We do require that all guests register online to receive a table assignment.
What should I wear?
Can I bring my kids?
Unfortunately, no. This is our only “adult only” event of the entire year. We want to maximize the number of adults in attendance to be able to influence kids throughout the rest of the year. If you’d like your kid(s) to get involved in the ministry, we’d love to talk with you. Give us a call!
